US trip 2010 special: Porto's Bakery

About the food:

After eating at a fastfood joint, it was time to taste something different. So we went to Glendale, California to check out one of the most popular bakeries in the area: Porto's.

Porto's has a bakery with a huge variety of breads and stuffed breads. 

They also have beautiful cakes fit for any taste and for any occassion.

Their servings are huge, just  take a look it this beef potato ball.

Likewise, their gourmet sandwiches are good enough to satisty your craving.

In my opinion, no gourmet store in the country comes close to Porto's.

If you've already tried all the pastries available in the famous BreadTalk, then maybe its time to try out a new pastry shop: Honeybee Patisserie. They have their own unique cakes, such as the strawberry matcha cake above). Furthermore, they also have different kinds of breads that would satisfy your taste. Below are pictures of breads i bought before, but I only now remember the takoyaki bread, which is good:)

Where to buy and how much:

The strawberry cake costs PHP115 per slice while the three breads in the pictures above cost me a total of PHP136. I believe their prices are competitive with BreadTalk's.

Honeybee Patisserie is located inside and beside Tokyo Bubble Tea, which is beside Pan de Amerikana, in Wilson St. San Juan.
